The meeting served as an important opportunity for all parties to exchange ideas and discuss initiatives aimed at supporting sustainable development, enhancing academic quality, and expanding AUV’s global connections in the next phase of growth.

In his role as President of AUV, Dr. Rutherford brings decades of leadership experience in higher education, aerospace engineering, accreditation, and international program development. He holds a PhD from Stanford University, has previously served in management positions at Boeing, and was Chair of the ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission. Throughout his career, Dr. Rutherford has made significant contributions to improving academic quality, strengthening university–industry collaboration, and advancing globally oriented educational programs.

Also joining the meeting was Kathryn Kennedy, a leading expert in healthcare marketing and strategic communications. With leadership experience at Stanford Health Care and GW Medical Faculty Associates, she has directed numerous large-scale initiatives in brand transformation, organizational communications, and strategic development. She has also worked with Apple on the global launch campaign of ReSound LiNX®, and has received more than 40 national industry awards. Her insights provided valuable perspectives on brand building, stakeholder engagement, and enhancing the positioning of educational institutions in a globalized context.

The discussion focused on academic innovation, enhancing student experience, expanding industry partnerships, and strategic directions aimed at further strengthening AUV’s position as a leading American-standard university in Vietnam. AUV faculty members also contributed practical ideas to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities, real-world experiences, and students’ global readiness.

The meeting reflects AUV’s shared commitment to building a modern, innovative, and future-oriented educational environment, where students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and global mindset needed to succeed in an ever-changing world.

AUV is confident that, with the support of experienced leaders, experts, and educators, the university will continue to open new development opportunities, contributing to the education of global citizens and future leaders.
