The American University in Vietnam - Admissions Open for 2025

AUV offers students the opportunity to study in Vietnam while earning an American university degree. 
The enrollment period for the 2025 Fall Semester is open until August 15, 2025. AUV is currently accepting applications from students around the globe. 

- Students will be considered for generous scholarships and will gain access to AUV’s rigorous four-year academic programs. Or transfer credit to prestigious universities in the United States and worldwide. 
- AUV admits only a limited number of students each year. Those selected will benefit from personalized support and resources to help them thrive academically and professionally.
- Applicants may begin their studies in Fall 2025 (early September) or opt to enroll in Spring 2026 (January). 
Who are we looking for?
-    AUV welcomes applicants from across Vietnam and around the world, offering a simple, stress-free admissions process with no entrance exams. We view each applicant as a unique individual with their own talents, aspirations, and potential. Please refer to the application requirements below.
-    We are looking for students who are motivated, curious, and eager to learn. At AUV, we are committed to helping each student unlock their full potential and develop the skills and character needed for future success.
Applying to AUV
1.    Admission requirements: Applicants must meet one of the following criteria
- Vietnamese or international students who are currently in their final year of high school (Grade 12 or equivalent) and are expected to graduate before the enrollment date at AUV.
- Individuals who have already obtained a high school diploma (or equivalent) are eligible to apply for the Bachelor’s Degree Program 2025 at The American University in Vietnam (AUV).

·    Current university students who wish to transfer and complete their undergraduate studies at AUV are also welcome to apply.
·    AUV does not require applicants to submit an English language proficiency certificate at the time of application. For those who do not possess one, AUV offers an in-house English proficiency test and assessment conducted by its academic team for admitted students.
·    Applicants who do not yet meet the English language requirements may enroll in a one to two-semester University Preparatory Program, prior to beginning their formal degree studies.
 

2.    Application Process
Each admissions cycle at AUV consists of two main rounds:
•    Application Round:
Applicants prepare and submit their required documents to the AUV Admissions Office for initial review.

•    Entrance Test and Personal Interview Round:
After the application has been reviewed, eligible applicants will be notified and scheduled for an English language placement test and a personal interview.
(Applicants who already hold a valid English proficiency certificate with a minimum score of IELTS 6.5, or TOEFL iBT 79 are exempt from the English test.)
 

3.     Preparing Your Application Documents
Your application package should include the following documents:

• Completed Application Form, including all required personal information

• High School Transcripts, up to the most recent term (or academic records from Grade 9 onward)

• College/University Transcripts (required only for transfer students)

• Letter(s) of Recommendation (optional but encouraged)

• English Language Proficiency Certificate, such as IELTS, TOEFL (if available)

• Other Certificates or Recognitions, such as SAT, ACT, or academic awards (if available)

• Personal Statement to qualify for additional scholarship (optional but encouraged)

5.    Admission results 

All applications will be reviewed in accordance with AUV’s admissions policies and procedures. Successful applicants will receive an official offer of admission and scholarship via email.

Applicants are expected to respond via email to confirm their acceptance and intention to enroll.
 

AUV aims to review and respond to all completed applications within 10 working days of receipt.

If you do not receive a response within this time frame, please contact the Admissions Office via

phone or email.

6.    Enrollment Timeline – Academic Year 2025
Application Period:

Opens on February 1, 2025 and closes at 5:00 PM on August 15, 2025

English Test and Personal Interview:

For applicants without valid English proficiency certificates, the English test and interview process will be conducted within 30 days after AUV receives all required documents.

Final Admission Decisions:

Applicants will receive their results within 10 days following the interview round.

7.   Important Notes

AUV’s admissions process is holistic, focusing on each applicant as an individual. Evaluations are based on AUV’s internal admissions policies, not solely on academic performance or GPA.

All application documents must be truthful, complete, and free from erasures or alterations.

For applications submitted via the website or email, applicants must upload clear photographs or scanned copies of original transcripts, certificates, and other relevant documents.

AUV reserves the right to request originals or notarized copies of any documents submitted online for verification purposes.

Fall 2025 Admissions for Bachelor's Programs officially open on February 1, 2025.
