Introduces descriptive and inferential statistics, organization and presentation of data, averages and variations, elementary probability, random variables, special discrete distributions, normal distributions, sampling distributions, point estimation, confidence intervals, and hypothesis testing. 

STATISTICS 226: Elements of Statistics (STAT 226, 3 Credits)
Introduces basic concepts, techniques, interpretation, and applications of data analysis, probability and statistics. Covers descriptive statistics, probability, sampling and sampling distributions, parameter estimation, hypothesis testing, and correlation and regression analysis with practical applications to data analysis in various disciplines of study.
