Overview of the systematic application of ecological concepts, principles and methods used in the study of human populations and the resource requirements needed to sustain communities. Examines the human-resource interplay in all types of ecosystems. Explores how this determines local differences in subsistence, labor allocation, technology, reproductive behavior, residential distribution, household composition, socio-political organization, inter-population relationships, population growth and industrial development.
